ISAN Oxford invites members of the public to “Every Child Matters” flag raising ceremony
ISAN Oxford (Indigenous Solidarity & Awareness Network- Oxford) invites the public to the Every Child Matters flag-raising ceremony at the Oxford County Administration Building on Friday, September 27.
The flag is being raised ahead of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30 to recognize and honour those affected by the Indigenous residential school system and also the 60s Millennial Scoops, in which large numbers of Indigenous children were brought into the child welfare system in Canada.

ISAN Oxford is hosting two additional events in Oxford County to honour the children on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
- Honouring the Children Sunrise Ceremony: Community members are invited to join Mary Lou and Dan Smoke for the Sunrise Ceremony on Monday, September 30, at 7:00 a.m. at Pittock Park in Woodstock.
- March for Truth and Reconciliation: The 4th annual March for Truth and Reconciliation in Ingersoll is on Monday, September 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The March begins at Yvonne Mott Memorial Park (downtown Ingersoll) and ends at the Ingersoll Cheese and Agricultural Museum on Harris Street. The event will include Indigenous speakers, a vendor market, a community march, and a Red Dress Memorial.
