The upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation has inspired the latest installment in the Local History Speaker Series.

A Talk with Robyn Michaud  
Thursday, September 26, 2024 | 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Join Conestoga College Professor of Indigenous Studies Robyn Michaud as she discusses her family history in the context of cultural assimilation and reflects on her journey reclaiming her identity and culture. The presentation includes a Jingle Dance demonstration and is available in person or online via Zoom.

Robyn Michaud is an Anishinaabe Kwe, Bear Clan from the Sagamok Anishinabek First Nation. She grew up in Tillsonburg, attended Glendale High School, and is working on her Doctorate of Education at Western University.

A Talk with Robyn Michaud is the fourth presentation in the Local History Speaker Series co-organized by the Oxford County Library (OCL) and Oxford County Archives. Presentations in this series focus on topics related to the history of Oxford County and its broader region.
